10000 Islands is a gargantuan region, with a massive community, boasting over 1281 member nations. 10000 Islands also holds great power in the World Assembly, with votes from 469 member nations.

Government

10000 Islands is headed by the Chief Executive (currently Woonsocket), while the legislative and judicial authority is vested in the Council of Nine. The Council of Nine is made up of four elected Senators, one elected Delegate, three elected Ministers, and the Chief Executive himself. Each position has authority over a facet of Islands administration, as well as the ability to propose and vote on legislation.

• Chief Executive- head of the region and main administrator. Runs the Council.
• Delegate- handles World Assembly and diplomatic affairs. Runs the Emissary Program and maintains embassies.
• Minister of Labor- recruits and monitors nations for duties in posts as required by the Chief Executive.
• Minister of Education- assists member nations in learning the NationStates game and the traditions, procedures and culture of 10000 Islands.
• Minister of Immigration- recruits new nations (and promoting recruitment) and encourages them to join and participate in 10000 Islands.
• Senator for Blue Canaria North- writes the Emissary Report, which is then optionally edited by the Delegate.
• Senator for Himes West- runs the XKI Lottery and Casino.
• Senator for Lyonnesse East- runs the XKI House system.
• Senator for New Republica South- runs the XKI Political Parties system.

Military

The military wing of XKI is the Ten Thousand Islands Treaty Organization (TITO). They are a defender organization with over 2700 successful missions over the span of 15 years. TITO was founded by Grub, Lyonesse, Blue Canaria, Titanica, and TheSensitiveNewAge back in the early days of the region (2003). One fateful day, the fledgling region was targeted for invasion by Empire of Power. With a warning by New Boniventure and the help of defenders from Urbanites, Texas, the Heartland, The Rejected Realms, and several other regions, the invasion was repelled.

Since then, TITO has grown to be one of the primary defender organizations of NationStates, and its name is synonymous with liberation and defense.

Forums

The 10000 Islands forums are a bastion of the community, and the majority of regional affairs occur there. Notable boards include:

• Information Bureau- FAQs, guides, and other help can be found here for those who are new to the region.
• 10000 Islands- the general discussion board, which also contains the News Department and World Assembly subforums.
• Senate Lobby- where citizens can petition the Council for change and policy.
• Taco Island- the spam and games board. It is the most popular board on the forums and is constantly filled with nations playing Werewolf, Resistance, or just having a fun time posting spam.
• XKI Casino- the home of the lottery and casino, where all your hard earned tacos (the regional currency) can be gambled away in hopes of reward.
• 10000 Islands Political Parties- where nations can join parties and campaign for candidates during elections. (Campaigning is also done on the Election Board)
• The Great Library- contains detailed histories and statistics on the region. A very resourceful board, indeed.
• Roleplaying- where nations can roleplay with others in the region.
