The Democratic Socialist Federation, commonly referred to as the DSF, is a constitutional federation founded January 27, 2017 by Monteverdi. In the view of Monteverdi, a significant number of socialist regions had started to contain a high number of dictatorships, and many large “democratic” regions seemed to have a government reserved for the powerful, and stripped governing power from the Member States. Thus, the Democratic Socialist Federation was designed to be a place for social liberals, democratic socialists, social democrats and other broadly democratic nations to call home. Since its inception, the region has proclaimed its dedication to democracy, social welfare, and equality. The leader of the Region is the Founder. The Founder’s power is kept in-check by the Region's Constitution and the Region's Administration. Ultimately, governing power is held by the Member States of the Region.
History
The Monteverdian Period
The Region was founded by Monteverdi on January 27, 2017. Two days after the Region was founded, Noria and Darinus was elected as the first Delegate. Several notable events occurred during this term, which contributed to the growth of the Region: the first Regional Forum was created by Monteverdi, the Constitution was created, and the Grand Parliament convened for the first time. The first Election was held in March 2017, where every incumbent won re-election.
