Imperium Sobeka (pronounced /ˈɪmpəriʌm soʊbika/) officially The Unified Imperial Realm of Sobeka', is a small to moderately sized confederation of 5 Princely States on the northern coast of Albion situated between the Sea of Kyne to its North, the Bay of Sobeka (Internally known as the Bay of Lancelyn) to its South-West, and the Gulf of Dysela to its East. By land the Imperium is bordered to its south entirely by the State of Ametisima and to the North and East by (currently unclaimed).
The Sobeki Government consists of a Royal and a Civil Service that forms the National Diet. Five Royal Families hold the Eleven Seats on the Sobek State Commission which holds de jure authority over the whole of the Realm. While Two Hundred and Twenty-Three elected Councillors hold the upstart Sobek Republic Council vying for tangible political authority in the Imperium. While the Council has yet to cement its powers in its short existence has held popular support while internally divided between many parties unable to form a functioning majority.
Sobek prides itself on its history of relative peace and neutrality. Founded upon a base of Minor Nobles, Free-Cities, and Regional Confederation, Sobek being unified out of fear of its larger neighbors has kept the state on the periphery trying to not strain its own internal alliances and political unions. Shifting alliances has lead the Margrave and Chairman to seek political backing and connections oversees as the nation sits on the edge of either a return to traditional Royal Authority, or the full Democratizing of the realm.
In the Modern Age, Sobek is a Highly Developed Nation with a robust Manufacturing and Mining Economy. While the West Coast hosting the majority of its Major Cities and Open Water Ports maintains a higher standard of living including a far greater share of its economic output, the nation at large holds a stable high income.
