Kuhlfros, Officially the United Grand Republic of Kuhlfrocia (Poblacht Mór Aontaithe Kuhlfrosia) is a Federal Republic consisting of 30 States, the 25 contiguous states; are in Northern Levantia between the Unified Empire of Kistan and the Latin Empire, North of the Levantian Strait and Southwest of the Yytuskian Archipelago, The five states north of mainland Kuhlfros are part of the Púróg Isles Archipelago, Kuhlfros is a part of the large region of Ixnay

Entomology

In 420 BCE, the first Germanic settlers found a valley-filled land inbetween great mountains with rivers and lakes from the mountain springs, these Germanic peoples named it KuhlTal, meaning Cold Lake Valley, Later on the Latin from the East met the original people of the land, Insular Celts, they named them the Frosci, meaning loosely the Iron Chests, naming them unconquerable savages, enduring warriors who were stubborn to a fault. Combining these two names together in the Latin Empire in 200 AD, came the name Kuhfrocia or Kuhlfros.

History

Prehistory

After the last great ice age a bands of hunter/gathers settled themselves down in the valleys of what would later be known as Kuhlfros. These people were of celtic origin and once the time of the stone weapon and gathering was, exchanged with civilization and agriculture, another type of people arrived, with their own ways and religions, the Germanics... for centuries they were split into thier tribes, fighting amongst themselves and the other cultures. It is believed other prehistoric cultures settled in Kuhlfros but later died out or were pushed out by the surviving cultures of the Germans and Celts.

It was in this period, the Purog Isles broke off from mainland Kuhlfros from continental drift, and the celtic groups there became segregated from the celtic mainlanders, these celts would change in some ways, becoming Insular Celts, a group that would later be the power of Kuhlfros. Meanwhile in the mainland the celts and germanics had their own separations within their culture group.

Antiquity

1200 BC-700BC

At their dawn of the Bronze Age, the tribes of Kuhlfros were going in numbers as the world warmed, and they separated into dialect groups from thier origin separating themselves and in some ways their very culture. The Celtic groups inhabiting the forests and hills of Northern Kuhlfros, the Germanic groups the valleys and mountains of Southern Kuhlfros, every few decades moving to another area. In this time the tribes of Kuhlfros had begun trade with foreign peoples from the surrounding lands of the Latin Empire, Urcea, and Kistan.

700 BC-200 BC

This was the way for centuries and settlements developed in some places in the future nation. Bronze Working brought new sciences to the Kuhlfrosian natives, and soon pottery working, and iron working had been discovered, as well as advancing usage of tools and wheels. Learning much from the enlightened traders from the Latin Empire. It was during this time the first tribal Kingdoms arose, as did Latin Colonies on Kuhlfros

200 BC-100 AD Latin Occupation

After peaceful yet tense trading between Latins and Native Kuhlfrosian tribes, it all ended after the Latin Empire conquered the southern half of Kuhlfros, enslaving or turning into members of their empire the people that did not escape the marching legions. With them they brought advanced construction, science, and culture, as well as developing new methods of warfare. At the end of the conquest of Kuhlfros, the natives escaping the incursion were all bunched together in Northern Kuhlfros, more stubborn and the strongest of the tribes survived while the southern Kuhlfrosian knelt to their conquerors. The Latin Emperor at the time, Tiberius, built a wall across the thinnest point between the ocean and open land, a series of fortresses dotting the walls guarding everything south of the wall from natives. It was came to be known as the Tiberian Wall

Rise of Christianity

100 AD-400 AD

It was during this time the Latin Empire was converted to Christianity and began to spread that faith across the lands they conquered, inspiring legends between missionary and those zealous pagans, three tribal Kingdoms emerged above the others in Northern Kuhlfros, The Bergsi Kingdom, Froscii Kingdom and Goiddel Kingdom, meanwhile the Latin Empire slowly collapsed to lack of funds and internal feuds. Eventually allowing the Bergsi and Froscii Kingdoms to rush South, the Goiddel Kingdom settling the lands they left behind.

400 AD-800 AD

Christianity spread across Kuhlfros and the collection of the sciences left behind by the Latins were gathered and adapted, Science and Military grew while culture stagnated, and pools of blood piled filled the lands that would soon be Kuhlfros. Early in this time a different culture developed in the Bergsi Kingdom, and the Meddox Kingdom allied with the Bergsi. However the Froscii culture had been completely destroyed by the Insular Goiddel culture, uniting those Kingdoms. The MeddoBerg Union Kingdom battled often against the Frosland Kingdom for control of the four dejure Kingdoms of the Kuhlfrosian landscape, Kingdom of the Isles, Kingdom of Aden, Kingdom of the Ironwood, and Kingdom of the Mountains. Near the end of this time scale, the Froscland controlled the Isles and Aden, while the Meddoberg held the Ironwood and Mountains.

Middle Ages

800 AD-1000 AD Viking Conquests

On the 14th of May, 867, the Kingdom of the Jriak from Skuldan landed in the Kingdom of the Isles, thier pagan and bloodthirsty warriors made quick work of the unprepared Froslanders and seized the Kingdom of the Isles from the Frosland Kingdom, which had been winning a war against the Meddoberg. It was also in this time in the lands without Kings, a little Kingdom was formed from the bastard brother of the King of Frosland and the runaway princess of Meddoberg, the Kingdom of MacRae, adopting new concepts and building a little kingdom without the knowledge of the greater powers. The Jriak became a terror assaulting the Northern shores of Kuhlfros and began conquering Frosland, the survivors raced south to the Meddoberg Kingdom which cowered behind the ruined fortresses of the Tiberian Wall. The Jriak were infamously cruel warriors but also amazing builders. Every city they conquered was burned to the ground, men slain, women and children enslaved. But each city was then built again with their knowledge. Using the land they Conquered as a base they raided Levantia and the lands south of that.

1000 AD-1100 AD A Turn in the Tide

On January 19th 1066 The Remnant Kingdoms of Meddoberg and Frosland whom were near collapse after centuries of fighting eachother and defending from the wall from further conquests south by the Jriak were vassalized by the Petty Kingdom of MacRae, and thier King, Morgan MacRae the 1st, formed the Kingdom of Kuhlfrosia uniting Germanic and Gaelic for the first time. Inspired by the feats of a faithful Kuhlfrosian woman who fought the Jriak on the battlefield with an army of escaped slaves and beneath the bed-sheets acting as a sex-slave for Jriak Leaders, killing them and disappearing in the night. At some point however she and her army was defeated, and the woman, raped allegedly one hundred times before killed by the torturous blood eagle. Seeing the Jriak able to be killed inspired the Kuhlfrosian Kingdoms and they began thier wars to push out the Jriak, taking 100 years to finally do so.

1100 AD-1400 AD A Great Kingdom

After taking back the Kingdom of Aden and the Isles, the long rebuild into a Kingdom to stand against new threats began, adapting culturally, repopulating the lands, returning Christianity to the North, and studying whatever sciences they could. Taking another century The Kingdom of Kuhlfrosia became known as the Great Kingdom of Kuhlfrosia to show the four Kingdoms being into one. As well as their newfound military strength on land and seas. Here on out starting from King Harold MacRae II the Kingdom of Kuhlfros began expanding their borders east, west, and south against the other Kingdoms.
