The Magdaléna Theatre (Greek: Μαγδαλένα Θέατρο, Magdaléna Théatro') is a a major opera house and theatre located in Atlantis, Diadochia.



History

Work on the Theatre begin in 1718, under Emperor Constantine VII of Diadochia. Constantine soon died in 1726. His son and successor Manuel VIII of Diadochia finished the construction by late August. the Theatre was officially opened with a performance of, To serve the Emperor, on December 20, 1726 in connection with the Emperor's birthday. This was also the first time that the future national anthem King of Kings, ruling over the kings! was played. The emperor named the theatre after his wife Empress Maria Magdaléna. There is a bust of the Empress Maria Magdaléna located in the main entrance foyer to the theatre.

Leading role

The Imperial Magdaléna Theatre has hosted the premieres of many of the most prestigious operas in Diadochia. The Theatre is the principal theatre to both the Imperial Diadochian Ballet, while the Imperial Opera House is the seat of the Imperial Diadochian Opera. With a seating capacity of 1,750 and a U-shaped Italian-style auditorium the theatre is ideal for large festivites.
