The Santa Agua Federation (named after the family that has held the Presidency since it's foundation) is a nation located in the region of Imperial Russian Empire and within the Islanders' Sea, as it is locally known. Currently, the international name for the Islanders' Sea is unknown. The Federal capital and largest city of the Federation is Port de Luchesa. The current Council capitals are Ashanta, Ductorë, Ramboru City and Stuð.
The starting date for the settlement of the islands is currently unknown however, it has been deemed unlikely that any of the islands had any indigenous tribes before settlement began. This is often seen as ironic by Islanders due to the fact that the ancient people in the world left the islands for what they were, just like the people from the 'occupations' or 'colonization period' did. It is known however that the ancestors of the Santa Aguans and the Ungans first arrived on the islands, both however in different circumstances. The Ductorë's came last with the Rambor-cluster being settled by local settlers instead of foreigners. During the ages, the Santa Agua Federation has been occupied by the Spanish, English, French, Dutch and the Danish, all of which have left their stamp on the Federation in one way or another.
The official language is English with the indigenous language being dropped for being too complicated. While this might seem like Islanders suffer from laziness, this was done to promote the economy while lowering educational costs. Islands may decide for themselves if they will take a second official language. The only current language that is still used and could be deemed indigenous is Ungan, a strange mix between Faroese and Icelandic, used by the d'Unga family on the islands of Unga and Björg's Island, where it is an official language.
Currently, the Federation has no official religion however, it is deemed reasonable to assume that all Islanders are member of the Island Church, a unique religion that developed from the various rituals and traditions of the islands. The Island Church tends to promote unity, tolerance and the view that Earth is a gift from God and that each individual's treatment of said Earth and it's inhabitants decides whether or not you ascend to Heaven. It is often nicknamed The Rainbow Church, due to it's continuous usage of the rainbow as a symbol and the fact that it promotes tolerance.
