The United Nations of the Farm Middle East (Or FME) has long existed on Aerth almost since the beginning of recorded time. FME is the unification of Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Kuwait, Bahrain, Palestine, Qatar, and the U.A.E. FME has been a single nation since 724 AD, following the final assault on Jerusalem, Israel by the Iraqi Empire in 721 AD. The Empire rose in power, invading Turkey in 812 AD, and taking the capitol of Harran in 815 AD. In 820 AD the Empire invaded Africa only to trigger war with the Empire of Sarenium, that over a brutal seventy four year war, kicked the FME Empire out of Africa for good. After this the Empire dismantled and became a Saren Commonwealth until 1505. In the 1800's there was a bloody revolution that turned FME into a republic.

After the war trade slowly grew between FME and Sarenium. While Sarenium's culture skewed FME's, FME gave Sarenium Sushi, spices, and incense. FME/Saren relations improved slowly throughout the years, even when in in the 1800's political instability hit like a plague.

Now in modern FME, it booms with progress and prestige. Its military is now a high power, and its advances impressive. Throughout the years religion has died throughout the lands of FME, making it the most Secularist nation on Aerth. Moreover FME has created a material by the name of New Magnesium, a metal alloy with the strength of Titanium, and the weight of Aluminum, making it the best metal in the world. FME is a cultural delight, and the second best tourist destination. It is the most developed nation in the world, and is filled with a caring, and compassionate populace.

History

The Iraqi Empire (500 AD - 915 AD)

Emergence ( 470 AD - 500 AD)

In the 400's AD there were tens of hundreds of tribes in the land known today as Iraq. They weren't fighting with each other yet they weren't friendly with each other either. While cities began to turn up in the Arabian Peninsula, Iraq stayed in little clusters of people who only cooperated for trade. In 470 AD, a child named Rahim Hussein was born in a village named al'aradi aljaff, translating to "Dry-lands". As he grew up he saw Caravan after Caravan, merchant after merchant. When Rahim was twenty it was already 490 AD, ten years before he united the tribes. He traveled all over modern Iraq recording everything he saw. What he saw the most baffled him. Some villages held vast amounts of wealth, even the poorest of the poor were happy. And when he traveled not to far, he saw others, all equally poor and starving. This great deal of inequality was the backbone, for the unification of the Iraqi people and their villages. Upon his arrival to his home village of al'aradi aljaff, he described to the people there of what he saw. al'aradi aljaff was a poorer village than most, and he used this to sway people to his side. He talked of some villages having the wealth of entire kingdoms, while others barely had enough for themselves. al'aradi aljaff had eighty two people in total, fifty seven adults and twenty five children. Rahim amassed them all and traveled to the closest poor village, bahr min alkathban (Sea of Dunes). Once he arrived he told the same story and they went on board as well. By the end of this he had amassed forty two villages - eight hundred adults, and two hundred children. With an army, equipped with weapons of different sorts they attacked the wealthier villages, killing those who wouldn't surrender, and adding who would to their army. In a matter of five years he had swiftly united all of the villages in Iraq, finalizing the foundation, of the Iraqi Empire, and created the very first Iraqi central government. The laws he put into place promoted equality of wealth and religious tolerance. His death in 534 AD led to a new line of leadership due to the fact that he never married or had children. His successor would be Abdulla Amin.

To Arabia (700 AD - 710 AD)

After Rahim's death and the deaths of his successors, the new Iraqi Empire had been exposed to the new religion of Islam, after the prophet Muhammad's death in 632 AD. This quickly turned the Empire into a Theocracy, the first in the name of Islam. Its first Theocratic ruler was Farid Nadim, a man who, like Rahim, wanted unification, only on a larger scale. He came to power in 689 AD and quickly built the Empire's military while ignoring the tax hike. He spent very little on the Empire's Navy as he wanted only to stay in the confines of the known Middle East. This plan took shape in 700 AD. While the exact day cannot be said, it was pinpointed to mid December. This was the first invasion of Arabia. Swordsmen of all kinds flooded the boarder and attacked the mighty Arabian Empire. The Arabian Empire was the Middle East's strongest civilization, and held a tight grip on the Suez canal as well as holy sites. As the war begun it was almost immediately a stalemate. Both sides took heavy casualties and morale dipped in both armies. It wasn't until the Iraqi Army began to use siege weapons to kill charging groups. As the smaller cities fell Farid Nadimk realized that Islam was already widespread in the Arabian Empire. He used this to bring his his new people, under his control without much effort. Before long the Eastern half of the Peninsula was under Iraqi control. Soon after that they were on the doors of Medina, Damascus, and Mecca. The first of these to fall were Medina, through bloody conquer the city fell in a couple of days. As Mecca was the capitol of the Arabian Empire, and the most secure city, Farid wanted to scare the Emperor by torching the city of Medina in order to force him to surrender. This began to work as Farid's armies surrounded the two cities. The Emperor surrendered, and was later killed. Farid's armeis soon went south to modern day Oman and Yemen, where they didn't kill a single person, and claimed those lands as well.

Road To Jerusalem (712 AD - 721 AD)

In 712 AD, Farid Nadim had successfully defeated one of the strongest Empires at the time. With Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Oman as the new additions, he solidified the Iraqi Empire and yet he had more on his mind. This led to the full on invasion of modern day Israel, Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon. They began to fell quickly. Although it would take years for Jerusalem to finally fall as the Iraqi Empire was surrounded during the first few attempts. As Farid received word of this victory, he killed the governments of each kingdom and took full power.

Unification (724 AD)

Three years since Farid Nadim took the rest of the Arabian Peninsula, three years since he founded each individual state. He found that each of them were similar in culture and religion. Using this he united them under a single banner and formed the very first government. Now, it wasn't just Iraq that was part of the Empire, he needed a new name. Thus, United Nations of the Far Middle East, or FME, was born.
