Following the end of the monarchy and the Cerdan Empire in 1891 after extensive republican rebellions, Cape Erindoon was granted independence and became the Republic of Cape Erindoon. During this time it was effectively kept as a satellite state of Democratic Cerdani owing to it's hegemony over the region at the time.
