Romainbourg, officially the Free City of Romainbourg, is one of the twenty-four cantons of Omerica and one of five with a predominantly urban character. Almost completely surrounded by Reicastel save for a coast on the Great Eastern Bight, Romainbourg is the smallest canton by land area and the most densely populated.

Etymology
The name Romainbourg can be roughly translated as Roman borough. The term romain descends from Latin rōmānus, which in turn derives from Rōma ("Rome") and the adjectival derivational suffix -ānus. Bourg, on the other hand, is a Proto-Germanic import from *burgz, meaning "fort", and is cognate with the English topographic suffixes -bury, -burgh and -brough.
