Ruhnu City, officially The Capital, Ruhnu City of the Ruhnu, is the capital city of the Ruhnu region and the Ruhn-i-Lehtese States. The city lies at the middle-north of the Gulf of Riga. With over 17 million citizens, Ruhnu City is the 3rd most populated city in the Ruhn-i-Leht (only behind Mariehamn and Foglo), and it's land area is 12 square kilometres.

Ruhnu City is divided in 4 regions - Ruhnu North, Ruhnu East, Ruhnu West and Ruhnu South. Notably, Manmade land around the island is not part of Ruhnu City. Such manmade land is usually named after the person who made it, like, for example, Rose island (William Rose). This land is always part of the Ruhnu region.

Economy

Ruhnu City is one of the main economic and financial centres in the Baltics. More then 10% of all the jobs in Ruhn-i-Leht are in Ruhnu, but the land area of Ruhnu is only ~0.8% and the population is ~8.5% of the Ruhn-i-Leht.

Transportation

International

Ruhnu have built a tunnel from the West of Ruhnu to Kolka, Latvia, and a bridge (the longest in the world) from Ruhnu North to Flaka, Leht. Trams go over these bridges, and there is no road for cars, as they are banned in the Ruhn-i-Leht. As there is also a tunnel between Kumlinge, Leht to Korpo, Finland, it is possible to get from Latvia to Finland using one tram. Sea ferries currently connect Ruhnu City to Helsinki, Finland and Parnu, Estonia.

RTC (Ruhnu Transport Company) operates the public transport in Ruhnu City.
