The Snow Fist Style is a martial arts system created by Emperor Lexam Reconlaf. It was developed as a unification of the many indigenous martial arts styles native to Blizatine. The Snow Fist Style is predominantly a vital and non-vital point striking art using punching, kicking, knee strikes, elbow strikes and open-hand techniques such as knife-hands, spear-hands, and palm-heel strikes. It also relies on throws and has some joint locks.

The Snow Fist Style was developed in the Great Martial Arts Temple in the Arctic. It was brought to the the rest of Blizatine after the Fall of the Gulf and the subsuquent establishment of the Blizatine Empire. It is systematically taught to all elementary and highschoolers, as well as to all members of the military. However no one outside of The Emperor and The Wolves have ever mastered the art.

Etymology

The name is a comparison of the style to snow which is beautiful to look at, painful to touch, and deadly. In addition it is a reference to the Blizantinian arctic where the style was created using martial arts from that region.

Philosophy

"Enter with honour, leave victorious" is the tenant that first hand accounts say Emperor Lexam Reconlaf told his men during the Unification of Blizatine. Gary Yorganson explained the quote in an interview "The idea is you come to the fight without cheating or tricking the opponent, but as soon as the fight starts you do anything you can to win." In modern day because of the popularity, the official philosophy is "do whatever you can to protect yourself."

History

Initial development

The Snow Fist Style was developed by Emperor Lexam Reconlaf since his birth. Even now His Imperial Highness is busy adopting Salahandrian techniques into his style. The style was fist declared and brought to public attention during the 52nd Great Generational Martial Arts Tournament. Specifically after His Imperial majesty beat the competition favorite Jerric "Blackheart" Geth. At this point it only contained styles from the Arctic region.

The Wolves

The Wolves are a group of martial artist who follow the direct orders of the Emperor. They were initially formed in 10 PIP with five members besides the Emperor. The original six members were Columbus "The Trapper" Glynn, Zestia "The Beautiful Blade" Koldof, Zema "Goliath" Ledal Uerthe, Sidara "Prince" Vildher, Lexam "The Great Wolf" Reconlaf and Gary "Black Dog" Yorganson

Popularization

Though there was an great amount of interest after the 52nd Great Generational Martial Arts Tournament, His Imperial Majesty refused to teach anyone outside the Wolves techniques. This is still true to this day. Even though it is the most popular martial art in Blizatine, and is taught in elementary and high schools, aside from Wolves everyone is taught by second generation or more. The Great Martial Arts Temple has three resident Wolves who are responsible for overseeing the teaching of the Snow Fist Style. Experts say that the Wolves contain many deadlier techniques that they don't teach to the general populous. This is further evidenced by the record belt level for a martial artist not a part of the Wolves is Black Yellow Stripe, which is held by Hellain Geth.

Qi

Qi is a didactic concept in many Blizatine martial arts that isa feature of both internal and external training systems. Qi is some sort of "life energy" that can increase they martial arts abilities of a person trained to use it. Ki abilities have been said to increase body durability, speed, power. In 2 BIC well-known martial artist Hellain Geth demonstrated the Iron Skin Technique where he stopped a .45 caliber bullet with his hand.

Training

Basic techniques

The Snow Fist Style uses a combination of strikes designed to break bones, puncture organs and tear flesh. A practitioner can strike with his fingers, knuckles, palms, side of the hand, wrists, elbows, knees and feet. In addition to strikes the style also contains many throws.

Weapons

Because of the usage of guns in the military many traditional weapon styles were never implemented into the Snow Fist Style. That being said there are three weapons systems created by the Emperor for these traditional weapons: The Snow Sword Style and the Snow Staff Style. It is worth noting the Snow Sword Style also includes knife systems.
