The Council

The Council is the second most powerful administrative unit in The Kingdom of Alaizia, after the current Head of State, Mazna Arnora Azalon I. It has its headquarters in the Grand Temple of Alaizia overlooking Divine Square.

It is a unicameral legislature of 12 members, with each member passing on his or her membership and title respectively to their chosen offspring.

Administration

From 10000 BC to 2014, The Council's role regarding the ruling of the state was that of an oversearing political body with the duties of maintaining stabilisation and discipline throughout the state. Thus, it possessed great administrative power. As of 2015, after the Great Revolution and the starting reign of Azalon I, The Council only answers to the Mazna Arnora, the de facto Head of State in Alaizia.

Religious duties

The Council is also the authority in matters of religion, although the final say belongs to the Mazna Arnora. Thus, The Council plays another role in the matters of state. It functions also as the chief clergy of the state's official religion, Enlightenment.

Membership and succession

The twelve current members of The Council are descended from the original initial members almost 10,000 years ago. Each member passes on his or her title and membership to their offspring. If there are more than one offsprings, they will choose who they deem to be the most spiritual and able.
