Early Life

Thomas Bascom has been connected to politics his entire life, his grandfather was president of Abidawe and his father preceded him. He attended a private school for Primary and Secondary School but attended Central High School in the capital city before being accepted to Bascom University (now the University of Abidawe). He graduated at the top of his class for each school. Throughout his entire life he has always loved sports. He started playing soccer at 3, baseball at 5, football at 6, basketball at 6 and competitive running in Secondary School. He joined the FC Abidawe youth squad at 6 and joined the Liga A team at 13 (the youngest age a player can be in Liga A). He was a part of Abidawe's World Cup win at 16 and will compete again in two years when he turns 20.

Thomas Bascom's father is Calvin Bascom, a famous politician who was President of Abidawe from 2000-2014. His mother is Cristina Bascom who was a famous doctor who was involved in the discovery of the cure for cancer. His sister is Carolynn Bascom who is a world renowned baton twirler. Throughout his childhood he had many relationships and has yet to marry. His most noted relationship was with Courtney Richardson, now a famous Actress and Singer, when he was in the 8th grade. It was long expected that they would end up marrying as they were together for about a year before they split in 2008. Thomas was devastated and actually fell ill (it is not known if it was caused by the break-up) and missed a week of school.

Thomas was actually planning to become an entrepreneur when he grew up as he never really longed for a job in politics. He had four inventions when he was a kid including: the universal remote (2002), 10800p HD (2004), 3D gaming console (2004) and the holo-TV (2005). He has patents on each invention and they are currently being sold all around the world. Since then he has been recognized as the inventor of the thorium powered car and yacht engines. He also aspired to be a writer, he wrote two books when he was a kid and both have been published: iUniverse (2008) and Machines Among Us (2009).

In his childhood he had many friends but his closest friends were probably: Hannah Gardner (a long time neighbor who went to school with him), Eric Langlois (his childhood friend that is almost his brother), Adam Therrien (his rock climbing partner), Christopher Lenox (a friend that he attended school with and played with on the high school soccer team) and Courtney Richardson (his ex-girlfriend who he was closer to than anyone else). They were pretty much the people that kept him grounded and from getting to overwhelmed with the massive press coverage that he dealt with on a daily basis and the downsides of political life.

Sports

Bascom first started playing professional sports at 13 when he was officially placed on the roster of FC Abidawe, a team in Liga A. He led the team to their first league win since 1999 and proved to the world that he was definitely an incredible soccer player. He also led the Abida National team to a World Cup win the very next year leading FC Abidawe to the win again. He began a baseball career at 17 when he was drafted by the Abida Red Sox who he also led to a league win. Bascom had become a multi-sport phenom.

He has won 6 consecutive FIFA Ballon d'Ors, 4 Player of the League Awards, 1 World Cup Golden Boot, 1 World Cup Golden Ball and many other individual awards.
