Operation Homecoming (Laiatanese: Добро пожаловать домой, Dobro pozhalovat' domoy) was the landing operation launched August 29, 2014 in retaliation for the deaths of two Spezialzekeinheit soldiers in a firefight with Kazakavo forces. The landing operation led to an intense land battle between the Laiatanese armed forces and elements of the Kazakavo military that would lead to a majority of the islands coming under Laiatanese and rebel control. The operation formed the basis for Laiatanese involvement on the islands, and set the stage for a total takeover by the FBA and the Laiatanese military. Planning for Operation Homecoming reportedly began early in 2014 when reports of mistreatment of the lupine majority by the human minority.

By July 2014 reports of open violence against lupines were reported to the Laiatanese federal government, and by August 7 Laiatanese troops were deployed in order to protect Laiatanese nationals. The death of the SZE troops occurred August 19, and a full scale invasion of Kazakavo occurred the 29th.
