The Republic of Jacland, shortened to Jacland, is a constituent country in the United Republics of Seketan and Jacland. It is in the Nelborne Union and represents itself despite the lack of sovereignty. Jacland is the 2nd smallest country in the URS.
Jacland was originally occupied by the Mi'Kenese natives. They are close relatives of the Greenlandic people. The land was not settled much by the Secens but some remnants of their arrival can be found in Jacland. English and Scottish settlers arrived in 1501. The English took Jacland whilst the Scottish took what is now today Bradonia. After the formation of the two countries, Bradonia and Jacland would trade and would often be seen as sister colonies.
Jacland was the base of operations with military conflicts with the French in the Nelborne Islands. When the Dominion of Jacland was formed in 1901, Jacland kept ties with the British monarch.
Following unification with Seketan, Jacland became a republic. The first prime minister, Paul Camros served for a little over a month, before getting replaced by Iggject Oilue, the first Mi'Kenese leader of Jacland.
Jacland today is one of the most important aspects of Seketan and Jacland. It has the second largest city of Seketan and Jacland, and has a strong economy due to their oil and their large trade ports.
The Republic of Jacland used to be called the Dominion of Jacland, whom participated in the Great Nelborne War.
